Genuinely Sourced. Purposefully Crafted in the Okanagan

Introducing Our Limited Edition Collection

In January 2024, extreme cold weather significantly impacted vineyards across the Okanagan Valley, resulting in reduced yields and minimal wine production. In response, we have partnered with select grape growers in Washington, Oregon, and Ontario regions that share similar growing conditions, to ensure the deliver the exceptional quality you expect from Gray Monk.

Our Process of Collaboration

Our winemaking team has been deeply involved in every step of the process playing a central role in 2024 harvest—carefully selecting vineyard sites, choosing specific blocks, and overseeing the winemaking and bottling in the Okanagan. This dedication ensures our 2024 vintage is crafted with the same meticulous care as our BC VQA wines.

Through industry collaboration, we strive to protect key wines and local talent, to ensure the resilience of the BC wine industry, while inviting consumers to join us through this journey.

Washington

Washington’s wine regions thrive in a warm, dry climate, created by the Cascade Mountains’ rain shadow and over 300 sunny days a year.

The combination of volcanic and sandy soils with excellent drainage produces bold reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, and vibrant whites like Pinot Gris. We’re sourcing from renowned areas such as Walla Walla, Horse Heaven Hills, and Ancient Lakes, where winemaking blends New World intensity with Old World structure.

Oregon

Famous for its cool, maritime climate, Oregon is defined by the Willamette Valley, where mild days and cool nights create ideal conditions for cool-climate varietals.

The valley’s diverse soils, from volcanic clay to marine sediment, result in elegant and balanced wines. For 2024, we are sourcing Pinot Blanc, a varietal that highlights Oregon’s ability to craft refined, terroir-driven wines with finesse.

Niagara, Ontario

The Niagara Peninsula, shaped by the moderating effects of Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment, is one of Canada’s premier wine regions. Its long growing season and diverse soils produce aromatic whites like Riesling and Chardonnay, along with cool-climate reds such as Pinot Noir and Merlot.

Sourcing from areas like Beamsville Bench and Niagara Lakeshore, we aim to bring the freshness and vibrancy of this region to our collection.
